Comfortis Chewable Tablets for Cats 12.1 - 24 lbs Description
Comfortis Chewable Tablets for Cats are a meat flavoured tablet that rapidly kills fleas on cats and then goes on to prevent flea infestations for a further month. Comfortis starts to kill fleas within 30 minutes of administration and will kill 100% of fleas on a cat within 24 hours. The chewable meat flavoured tablet can be administered orally or mixed with food. As the product is an oral medication there are no restrictions with regards to washing after treatment. Comfortis for cats comes in 3 convenient sizes for cats between 4.1 and 24 lbs in weight.

Directions of Use
Comfortis tablets for Cats are administered orally once a month at the recommended minimum dosage of 50 mg/kg. Comfortis should be given with food. Cats between 4.1 and 6 lbs are given one 140 mg tablet from the pink box each month. Cats between 6.1 and 12 lbs are given one 270 mg tablet from the orange box each month. Cats between 12.1 and 24 lbs are given one 560 mg tablet from the green box each month. Cats over 24 lbs should be administered the appropriate combination of tablets.

Do not use in kittens less than 14 weeks of age. Keep out of reach of children. Give this medication with food. Do not treat pregnant or lactating queens unless on the advice of a veterinarian. The safe use of this product on breeding male or female cats has not been evaluated. In cats, the safety of Comfortis in conjunction with macrocyclic lactone-containing gastrointestinal worm treatments or heartworm preventatives and with topical tick treatments and collars has not been evaluated, therefore it is strongly recommended that you check with your vet before using with other treatments. Do not administer more often than once a month.
Possible Side Effects
Side effects of Comfortis are rare in cats and are considered mild. The most common side effect in cats is vomiting, salivation, followed by decreased appetite, lethargy and diarrhoea.
