Deramaxx is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug belonging to the Cox - 2 inhibitor class of the NSAID group. It is used in dogs for the treatment of pain and inflammation. Deramaxx is used in the treatment of conditions such as arthritis, degenerative joint disease, musculo-skeletal injuries and hip dysplasia as well as for the management of post-operative pain.

Directions for Deramaxx Chewable Tablets
The usual dose of Deramaxx is 1.4 to 1.8 mg per pound as a single daily dose to treat pain following surgery. For long term treatment of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis the dosage is 0.45 to 0.91mg per pound.

Side effects of Deramaxx Chewable Tablets
This medication should not be used in animals allergic to it or other NSAIDs. Do not use Deramaxx in dogs suffering from cardiac, hepatic or renal disease, or where there is a possibility of gastro-intestinal ulceration, bleeding or blood dyscrasia. Avoid use in dogs less than 6 weeks of age. Kidney and liver function should be monitored before and during treatment. Deramaxx should not be given with other NSAIDs such as aspirin, carprofen, etodolac, meloxicam or tepoxalin. Deramaxx should not be given with corticosteroids such as prednisone, cortisone, dexamethasone or triamcinolone. Do not give to dogs allergic to sulfonamides. Do not give to cats or other animals besides dogs.
